Enact an Ordinance

A well-written ordinance is a great tool to ensure that communities to control light pollution.  Thousands of cities have adopted such codes.  The International Dark Sky Association has samples of model lighting ordinances including a Model Lighting Ordinance that was adopted in 2011 by IDA and the Illumininating Engineering Society of North America.
